The Akwa Ibom State Government has approved the appointment of Dr. Akanimo Edet Jonah, MCSN, MNIM, as the new Deputy Rector of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, Ikot Ekpene.
This was disclosed in an official circular dated October 21, 2025, and signed by the Acting Registrar, Mr. Godswill E. Udofah, MNIM.
Before his appointment, Dr. Jonah served as the Director of the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) and was the immediate past Dean of the Entrepreneurial Centre at the Polytechnic.
The circular called on all staff, students, and the wider Polytechnic community to take note of the appointment and extend their full cooperation to the new Deputy Rector.
The institution’s management also urged that the announcement be given wide publicity, emphasizing the significance of the appointment to the growth and administration of the Polytechnic.
